Who we are
FAR-SEE 2026 is convened under PRL Vikram Discussions by the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, Ahmedabad. The data controller is PRL. For privacy queries, contact the Data Protection Officer at farsee2026@prl.res.in.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, affiliation, country, role, optional ORCID.
- Submissions: abstract content, authors, optional figure.
- Registration: tier, payment reference (Razorpay), invoice details.
- Technical: server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and integrity.
We do not use Google Analytics or third-party advertising trackers. Card numbers, CVV and PIN never touch our servers — they are handled by Razorpay under PCI-DSS.
Why we collect it
- To process abstract submissions and notify decisions.
- To register attendees, process payments, and issue tax invoices.
- To send conference logistics (join link, schedule changes).
- To comply with Indian financial recordkeeping requirements (7 years).
- To protect the site from abuse and to investigate security incidents.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP) and aligned with GDPR for EU residents, you may request access, correction, or erasure of your personal data. Submit requests from your dashboard or by email. Financial and tax records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian law.
Data residency & retention
- Hot logs: 90 days; cold logs: 1 year (encrypted).
- Audit log: 7 years.
- Hosting region: India (where feasible) or AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1).

Security incidents
In the event of a reportable cybersecurity incident, we will notify the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) within 6 hours as required by the 2022 directive, and affected users within statutory timelines.
