Code of Conduct

A respectful, harassment-free environment for everyone.

Our pledge

FAR-SEE 2026 is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or career stage. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.

Expected behaviour

  • Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Use welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Give and accept constructive feedback gracefully.
  • Focus on what is best for the scientific community.
  • Show empathy towards other community members.
  • Respect the time and attention of speakers — keep Q&A on topic.

Unacceptable behaviour

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Verbal abuse, slurs, or derogatory comments in chat or Q&A.
  • Sexual or violent imagery in any shared screen or chat.
  • Unwanted private messages of a personal or harassing nature.
  • Sustained disruption of talks or sessions.
  • Recording, screen-capturing or redistributing talks without speaker consent.

Online etiquette

  • Use your real name and affiliation in the webinar.
  • Keep microphones muted unless invited to speak.
  • Use Q&A channels — not chat — for substantive questions to speakers.
  • Be mindful of time zones in any follow-up communication.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behaviour that violates this code, please report it to the secretariat at farsee2026@prl.res.in or via the in-conference helpdesk. Reports are handled confidentially. Consequences may include removal from the webinar and a ban from future events.
